installer does not find usb drive

   Hello,

   after installing Slitaz a few days ago, I decided to install it a second time on a spare partition to play with it and cook and so on.
   However, just like the first time, the installer does not find my usb (sdb1).
   On the pull down menu, it only shows sdb but, if I select it, it complains the drive was not found.
   I ended up copying the .iso from the HD to the live Cd home and installing with the from .iso option.
   However, I'm curious about this issue, so perhaps someone could enlighten me.
   Also, I was curious about the justx version, so I tried to install that too.
   This time, when the iso image appears on the terminal in green (which I assume means it is selected) and I continue the process, it says the image was not found.
   Small hitches in an otherwise amazing distro.

   I don't exactly understand what you mean. Does the installer (in TazPanel?) display in the down menu only /dev/sdb and not /dev/sdb1? Can you do a screenshot?
   What type of formatting did you use for your USB disk and how GParted see it?
   Can you post the result of fdisk -l?

   In my SliTaz rolling (updated), in TazPanel, Installation > Install SliTaz > Execute Gparted button has no effect ??
   GParted from Applications > System Tools > GParted Partition Editor works.

   Hello Ceel,

   first I tried to install Slitaz from the panel. When i get to the step of choosing the medium from which install, i can only choose SDB (error-1.png) whereas the USB stick I have SliTaz on is /dev/sdb1.
   I also tried tazweb-installer from the terminal.
   There i get first the right USB identification (error-2.png) but then I get an error message (error-3.png).

   As for the fdisk and blkid output they are:

   I burned the .iso image on the USB stick with dd as usual, so I assume the reading should be fine.

   Copying the .iso on the home dir of the live CD and choosing install from .iso on the installer menu worked just fine.

   Here is your problem. Use a msdos part system and the installer will see your partitions on the stick.

   Hi Ceel,

   Thanks a lot for clearing this up.
   Will make next install even easier.
   The more I use SliTaz the more I like it.
   Looking forward to next release.
