I've been following SliTaz since last fall. I installed to a USB drive. It took some time to discover that SliTaz wants to be installed in a USB drive formatted with the ext3 file system. Installation to a USB formatted with FAT32 file system fails the Tux login and has many other faults. Several contributors to the forum know this but the information keeps getting lost in the shuffle and new users with a faulty USB install continue to crop up on the forum. Now I see that people installing the cooking version of SliTaz also suffer these same problems.
To the developers: is the FAT32 bug an oversight, or do you folks have issues with the legacy of this file system? Either way, why does no one put the requirement for ext3 information somewhere very obvious so that new users to USB SliTaz won't have to keep cluttering up the forum with the same old problems? Thank you for your attention.
To the forum sysop: I used to be registered before the forum switched to this new format. I was able to supply my own password but now I had to re-register and get a password assigned to me. This very complicated password is very awkward and I will never remember it and will therefore rarely log in to contribute. Thank you.
