OCR in Slitaz

   Hi
   Did anyone try Gocr the soft to recognize caracters, because it dosen't work form me.
   The project it's alive ?
   I can not found any help online or documentation and I found other users in this situation.
   Also I search Teasseract in slitaz packges to install but it's not there.
   It's possible to install it in slitaz ?

   Sorry but I need to add something.
   Seems like in order to run Gocr I need the Netpbm tools intalled.

   tux@slitaz:~$ gocr -v 39 -m 58 -e - font1.pbm
   # load database ./db/ (null) ... DB ./db/db.lst not found
   Optical Character Recognition --- gocr 0.49 20100924
   ...
   many, many lines after
   ...

   # writing out10[.png] xy= 1623 953
   sh: pnmtopng: not found
   tux@slitaz:~$

   Is this ok I am in the right direction?

   But this Netpbm is not in list of packages.
   How to install it ? I will being googling, dogpiling, ixquiking that.
   And of course Ducking that.

   Hi,

   Probably you not tried another special great search engine: http://pkgs.slitaz.org/

   Select 'File', type 'pnmtopng', select your SliTaz version, press the button.

   Ok, it found nothing. Try to find 'pnm2png', it exists. Actually I don't know, will it works, but you can try. Seems like 'libpng' is default package. Try to make symlink from existing /usr/bin/pnm2png to /usr/bin/pnmtopng (of course, as super user). Open terminal and type:

   su
   Type root password
   ln -s /usr/bin/pnm2png /usr/bin/pnmtopng
   exit

   It will work if both programs have compatible options and syntax.

   Somebody will send me to slitaz docs or similar.
   Tank you for reply so fast. I will try that.
   I never step into that page ( how is that possible ), very usefull indeed.
   Always do my searchs from the console 'tazpkg search some-package'
   But this alows you to select file, packages, etc and your slitaz version, cooking, undigest. ¡¡ Great !!
   ( very basic thing to know )
   I being posting the results. I need a engish-spanish diccionary urgent.

   Ok, first of all I think that all this searches coud been done from the console whit tazpkg
   of couse you need to know the parameters it's much easier form me to do it from
   http://pkgs.slitaz.org/ as Aleksej says.
   And the symlinks works :

   root@slitaz:/home/tux# ln -s /usr/bin/png2pnm /usr/bin/pngtopnm
   root@slitaz:/home/tux# ln -s /usr/bin/pnm2png /usr/bin/pnmtopng

   Apparently 'libpng' replace 'Netpbm' and theirs commands ( tools ) have compatible
   options and syntax as Aleksej says.
   'Gocr' hasen't been able to read anything from the snapshot take whit my web camera
   ¡ But it works ! Even if it dosen't ( for now ) . I am happy.
