Hi
I did have great problems to solve to make the installation of the rolling version on my HD possible and suspect 2 bugs...
a/ starting the ISO through Grub2, it was not possible to access to X (black screen)
I did leave the black screen with CTRL+ALT+F2, CTRL+ALT+F1 and CTRL+c
login as root with the usual root password root
and try "startx"
nothing to do...
I did do that x times restarting again and trying again etc.
until I accidentaly I did have to do something in between time!
cursor up (I don't know why I did do that, reflex?)
"startx" reappears! and I hit "enter" ...
X starts, yes after a long time without activity
X starts really absolutely well, without defeat, all right!
I did that al lot of time because of the next problems, and it works so on my PC. always without defeat!
I did never read about such a phenomen and it can probably help other users.
b/ installation:
I did install in a little new partition pre formated in ext4. I always use ext4 because of the very fast checking if the system has to be checked...
I did install with SliTaz Panel and loge my home in an other partition, my "big", it is it's label on all my computer, because it is really big (70.. 450 GiB depending on which PC). especially this partition has to be formated in ext4 because of checking time! it contains all my data. for this reason, I did not format the external /home partition!
I did enter an other user name than "tux" and didn't change the passwords...
no way to install properly and enter as user, well as root!
I did reinstall x times!
until I did understand: Slitaz Panel installs wrong! I did open fstab and look...
fstab says that my external /home is ext3 but it is wrong! it is ext4!!!
I find that this part of the Slitaz Panel form has to be amended.
It would be very helpful for the user to invers the place to mark and fillout in this line of this form:
[] utiliser une autre partition pour /home [/dev/hda5][^v] [] utiliser en [ext4][^v]( [] formater cette partition)
instead
[] utiliser une autre partition pour /home [/dev/hda5][^v] [] formater cette partition en [ext4][^v]
