should the loopfs install described here http://doc.slitaz.org/en:guides:uncommoninst#loop-install
work with sitaz 4 (never tried it with slitaz 3)
I worked a while on the setup but get error messages at boot time
I can boot the image in memory
then later I get a message saying
mount: mounting /dev/sda1 on /mnt failed : invalide argument
Sleep for 2 seconds... mount: mounting /dev/sda1 on /mnt failed
Into loop file boot/slitaz.fs...
iosetup : /dev/loop0: No such file or directory

FAT: unable to read boot sector
bio too big device /dev/loop0 (2>0)
isofs_fill_super:bread failed, dev=loop0, iso_blknum=16, block[[did not record the end of msg]
then it stalls, i can reboot with ctrl+alt+del (no panic)
LZMA also complained when i installed the fs (command unlzma -c /media/cdrom/boot/rootfs.gz | ( cd /mnt; cpio -idmu )
it complained it reached the end of the file unexpectedly (maybe the complaint was from cpio)
but loopmounting the slitaz.fs, the fs looked fine.
Any hint ? tx
And happy new year to all, of course
