Hi everybody :-)
Many thanks to Trixar_za who kindly sent my pw after registration step as I did not received it automatically... :-)
Others users experienced same issue.
I successfully tested Slitaz 4.0 on three hardware configs : a very old Packard Bell (1995), a "less old" Lenovo embedding a VGA Chipset ATI Radeon X1250, and a Lenovo H520 VDM5RFR (1 year old) with an on-board adapter Intel HD Graphics.
I recently purchased a MSI Wind Box DC110 wishing to install latest 4.0 working correctly on "old" machines.
As boot can be done only from USB key and problem rised, before posting this issue I read topic debated on page [forum.slitaz.org/topic/cant-boot-live-cd]. (There is no CD reader on DC110)
However in my case boot screen from USB key show up the regular menu (brown bg screen) and then fs is regularly unpacked on black screen.
However, once boot reach "SWITCHED to NOHz... etc", black screen suddenly stop when X interface should (supposedly) start handling VGA/HDMI video chipset.
Then boot disappears and screen display "No signal Going to sleep".
Here few essentials specs from French "MSI Wind Box DC110-006XEU" regarding issue:
Processeur Type Intel® Celeron® 847 Dual Core
Fréquence , L2 Cache 1,1 GHz, 2 Mo L3 Cache
CPU FSB/ HT bus DMI : 5000Mhz
Chipset Intel® NM70
Processeur graphique Intel HD Graphics
Mémoire vidéo Support Intel Dynamic Video Memory Technology (DVMT)
Entrée HDMI / Sortie HDMI - / 1
Entrée VGA / Sortie VGA - / 1
Several VGA Driver are available both on supplied dvd and online at http://www.msi.com/product/desktop/Wind-Box-DC110.html
According manufacturer, "The Wind Box DC110 provides one an HDMI ... and one VGA out which allows the units to be connected to a second monitor. They support dual-screen display and can also output the screen to a larger display device,..."
According Lenovo, H520 VDM5RFR use same on-board graphics adapter (Intel HD Graphics) like MSI manufactuer use in Wind Box DC110.
I am confused, as Slitaz 4.0 should properly work on this MSI config too...
So, I am suspecting one of these possibilities:
a) an "outdated" VGA pkg driver within this 4.0 distro, needing to be updated for this "very recent" chipset;
b) an unwanted switching on HDMI output mode once boot cycle is ending, preventing to properly "supply" regular VGA output (my preferred).
As I don't use any HDMI display, I can't even test this possible issue option.
At the moment I don't know if others pkg compatibility of this 4.0 distro could rise regarding capabilities to properly handle also the built in Card Reader Driver (a Realtek RTS-5139 / RTS-5159 according MSI), the WIFI chipset, and On-Board LAN Drivers.
So please, is anyone able to help me with the first (and foremost) VGA concern?
Thanks a lot. :-)
