so I have installed SliTaz cooking with kernel 3.2.53 onto an embedded system with Intel EG20T chipset.
Mojo was kind enough to compile the kernel with needed modules for the CANbus controller (thank you again for this).
I installed this slitaz-base.iso and everything(including ethernet) worked correctly.
I require many packages on top of the base image, so I used the slitaz-base.iso as base on pizza.slitaz.org and added the packages I needed.
I then created a new iso from the .flavor file
After installing the new iso, the ethernet controller is no longer detected and I cannot add the required module.
modprobe e1000e
returns that the module cannot be found.
I know the module is working with this kernel because it worked on the base.iso I build the new iso from so I am confused.
I have downloaded the source for the module from Intel and installed (as far as I know) all required packages to compile it. I have run /usr/bin/get-linux-source using "linux-3.2.53.tar.xz" downloaded from http://ftp.kernel.org
When I run make install
the makefile returns
"Aborting the build. *** This driver is not supported on kernel versions older than 2.4.0. Stop."
Any ideas where to go next?
