i did some investigations and found here
http://www.cse.unsw.edu.au/~chak/linux/XF86Config-4.c400
an xorg.conf file for the C400
it should solve a number of issues including, reserving more ram for video shared memory (defaut is 1M which is not sufficient)
i renamed it as /root/xorg.conf.new
then i run tazx to reconfigure (i do not NOT try to load the intel driver anymore at this stage since that prevented from finding the right number of devices)
It does not work as expected
It seems to be taken into account, but then at the very end of the log, it is not (i can tell because not enough memory is reserved, the conf file tries tor reserve about 32MB which is the maximum, whild actually only the default ~800 kb are reserved - see first line of the log)
furthermore, it cannot even start the 640*480 mode (which was working with the previous 3.0 version).
Here is how the xorg.0.log looks like (well the end of it)
