@kultex: Known bug: Eject does not work - this is a problem with udev / udevil / spacefm
If we update util-linux to 2.24 in the wok, there's a /usr/bin/eject command that fixes this.
If someone can take a look?

I'm using cooking core from mirror.
IDE optical drive eject fails because no symlink is created from /dev/hdx to /dev/cdrom because this was removed from /etc/init.d/rcS
# Create /dev/cdrom if needed (symlink does not exist on LiveCD).
# Also add /dev/cdrom to fstab if entry does not exist.
if [ -n "$CDROM" ]; then
DRIVE_NAME=${CDROM#/dev/}
else
DRIVE_NAME=$(fgrep -s "drive name" /proc/sys/dev/cdrom/info | cut -f 3)
fi
if [ -n "$DRIVE_NAME" -a ! "
readlink /dev/cdrom" ]; then
echo -n "Creating symlink : /dev/cdrom..."
ln -s /dev/$DRIVE_NAME /dev/cdrom
ln -s /dev/$DRIVE_NAME /dev/dvd
status
fi
if ! fgrep -q "/dev/cdrom" /etc/fstab; then
echo -n "Adding /dev/cdrom to fstab..."
echo '/dev/cdrom /media/cdrom iso9660 user,ro,noauto 0 0' \
>> /etc/fstab
status
fi
P.S.
I am not authorized to make commits to slitaz-boot-scripts
yes you can.
Thanks eric,
With sata optical drive udev makes symlinks from the dvd drive /dev/sr0 to /dev/cdrom and /dev/cdrw
After mounting/umount iso9660 or play/shutdown audiocd:
root@slitaz:/home/tux# eject
eject: /dev/cdrom: Input/output error
Push the eject button on the drive, run eject in the console and the tray opens.
Then eject -t
and eject
works from console with no errors.
mojo - on ide it does not work with the kernel from cooking, because udev does not support the old ide config
with the config I used in the testing iso, it works sometimes - like with sata drives in cooking
thats the config to use
Hi all
I had some spare Time,so I fetched me a copy of the Testing-iso
( slitaz-test-3.2.50-04092013.iso ),to help with testing,
from the link in the first post.Is this the latest version?
I burned a CD, and it booted without probs.
BUT the Hardware detection failed.
None of my IDE-devices were found; no HDD no DVD-Rom's
( checked in Terminal )
There are more bugs on the List, but as long as I don't know if I have the newest version I won't post here.
If you need some log-files, please tell me which.
regards
sixofeight, yes this is my last version - main reason I did it, was to avoid the 5% sound hanging of rolling and to test cpu freq scaling and the new kernel-config with new ide config.
In this thread you find info how to see internal drives
http://forum.slitaz.org/topic/new-kernel-version-in-the-wok
and there is a problem with DVD-Roms - I have tested quite a lot and 50% work normal 50% do not work at all - I have no idea why until now, but I have nealy no time in the moment ???
So all info will be helpful for further developement
Hi
Just to be sure not to do useless things. There is the iso from kultex
(slitaz-test-3.2.50-04092013.iso) and there is a slitaz-rolling.iso dated
2013-Dec-29 01:04:08.Which is the one I should look at and report bugs?
Thanks
Maybe the best is to compare, what you like and not, what works and what not - the official rolling iso will change soon, because the new kernel config is now in undigest http://hg.slitaz.org/wok-undigest/rev/87ea6f7a9313
As promised,a first glance from a user's point of view.
kultex-iso:
wbar..it's a matter of taste..why not..but it should only allow one instance or give a hint that it is already running.right now you can click the button again and again,(accidently),and without looking at the Task-manager you won't know how many instances are running.
obconf doesn't preview/change themes without logout/in
Logout tux -> login root gave me a blank brown Desktop. No panels, nothing, only the Openbox rightclick-menu was available.Starting the Panel in terminal brought up a bottom-panel.
SpaceFM, the red root-user-color made the menu unreadable.
(yes,I can turn it off but that's not the point)
rolling-iso:
(IDE)-HDD and DVD-rom-drives were detected.HDD working,DVD-drives not.(allways shows no media)
btw.Drive-Icons missing? floppy and DVD-drives have a red cross.
obconf didn't start at all
logout tux -> login root = correct Desktop
It would be nice to have a configureable cpu-monitor in the Panel (eg.like xfce) to configure them to specific cpu-cores
thx sixofeight for testing - when you check wok, there are a lot of commits now. I am off the next 2 months because of work. Perhaps I will do new version of my iso in March. I will take care of your notes,
