... which is not yet available on all mirrors but can be downloaded here:
http://mirror.slitaz.org/iso/rolling/
I booted the Live CD and ran all tests in the live environment.
The positive:
All my hardware is detected and configured correctly. Audio works, noveau is loaded and the selected screen resolution matches that of my monitor. With one exception (see below) the desktop and all installed applications work without any problems.
The negative:
1) PCManFM cannot be run as root ...
> root@slitaz:/home/tux# pcmanfm
> Error creating proxy: The connection is closed (g-io-error-quark, 18)
> ** (pcmanfm:19268): WARNING **: The directory '/root/Templates' doesn't exist, ignoring it
> ** (pcmanfm:19268): WARNING **: modules directory is not accessible
... is this because PCManFM isn't configured in root? The /root directory is completely empty.
2) Tazlito produces an error message ...
> find: home/tux/.gvfs: Permission denied
... which is strange because tazlito is run as root and the find command should therefore be able to access the directory. But this is probably of no importance for the creation of a new ISO.
3) Kernel panic with tazlito-created ISO ...
> VFS: Cannot open root device "null" of unknown-block (0,0)
> Please append a correct "root=" boot option; here are the available partitions:
>
> 0800 1057090 sda driver: sd
> 0801 1052226 sda1 00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000
> 0b00 1048575 sr0 driver: sr
>
> Kernel panic - not syncing: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on unknown-block (0,0)
> Pid: 1, comm: swapper/0 Not tainted 3.2.53-slitaz #4
... I ran tazlito from the console (tazlito writeiso lzma). But whether my internal hdd was mounted or unmounted when I ran tazlito, and whether I used lzma or gzip, none of the 4 combinations produced an ISO that would boot. They all hung with a kernel panic.
