Hey Guys
I just wanted to say hi and to say that I am truly loving this beautiful little distro! What I like about Slitaz is the fact that it is small but yet very stable. I have been testing it for a few days now and it hasn't given me much hiccups (the only hiccup being Midori crashing on me once or twice but thats due to the browser and not the underlying system.) I have Slitaz running on a relatively old (but ample spec for the distro) P4 3.0Ghz with 1gb ram.
What I like about Slitaz is the fact that you need to be prepared to get your hands dirty in order to get what you need done, ie adding stuff like lighttpd to rcS.conf in order to get it to start up at boot time and even when installing I had to scratch my head a few times because I have 2 cd drives and it wouldn't install until I used the primary disk drive. All this would frustrate the hell out of nubies and most folk but I found it to be fun and a good learning curve for me:-)
Currently I am test driving it to host a small site on the net and I am doing my best to break it and make it crash but it seems to be fast, stable and rock solid. To say the least, I am impressed!! My only major concern though would be how secure it is? I am not a hacker or a computer expert but I have done my best to secure it. I guess it is as secure as the next distro provided you follow follow certain guidelines. Maybe my question is more for how secure Lighttpd is compared to Apache? I have used Apache before but not Lighttpd so I am experimenting:-)
All in all I am most impressed and I would love to help the guys out who are making this all possible so count me in if I can lend a hand anywhere.
Cheers
