# install dep.
su
tazpkg get-install pywebkitgtk
tazpkg get-install python-xdg
exit
## download source
wget http://download.tuxfamily.org/adeskbar/dev/slitaz_html_desktop.tar.gz
## extract
tar xf slitaz_html_desktop.tar.gz
## and let's go
./slitaz_html_desktop/html_desktop.py

   Have fun ..

   Merci.......That's pretty good! It gets a bit crowded at the bottom of my small screen eeePC701 SDX.

   ......it has to be restarted each time I boot......is that the way it is suposed to work?

   @plumtreed: if you know a bit html/css , it's easy to modify to your taste ..

   @Naitsirhc: no problem, but the code is ugly ( mostly because it's a copy/paste from my others projects ). if I have some free time , I can improve it.

   ps: As you may notice, my english is bad .. :)

   Hi adcomp,

   Well done and realy nice! Funny since I coded a tazweb widget a like so we could have widgets, update and more in a desktop/webkit window. But I'm not able to have a transpent backgrounf actually! It would be nice to hace an HTML desktop but in C not Python, here is my code if someone wants to get involved:

    Let's see if pyinstaller can help make this a stand-alone binary. That way we don't have to include python for it. Just libwebkit and xdg

    I stumbled upon this thread about a week ago and loved the idea! I didn't like the styling with all the borders and squares, so I edited the css part a bit and removed the descriptions so a lot more icons fit on the screen, which comes in handy when you have a small screen such as most mobile devices. You can download the result here:

    I think the final version should consist of cgi scripts like tazpanel and use the tazweb widget, but for now python is doing a great job. By using cgi the launcher can become more lightweight and small enough to hopefully be included in the official 5.0 release (at least the ARM one).
