Hi,
Test also on my dell x300, little victory, infact blank screen, but i use space to expect run video, it's work during few seconds, due of overload cpu (maybe also ram), "oops page" appear.
Infact, pentium M 1Ghz monocore, 1G ddr, need tweak.
Continue test and improve to ensure work as expected and don't forget anything.
Hi,
When try to prepare new iso for core64, i found major issue no see before (i set only french keyboard).
Boot, set local fr, issue about i18n_ctype no such file or directory.
menu is french, desktop / apps remain en.
with iso build 20231107 (with gcc 6.3.0 / glibc 2.23), no issue occured
Hi,
Fix locale issue.
I check glibc/install folder and see we have i18n_ctype file not include in wanted-files.list, i put them, no better, when search again and forum talk about to ensure /usr/share/i18n not exclude but also to reboot.
In my case, i just reinstall glibc-base but not reboot, rebuild iso and test it, locales work :).
Hi shann,
Just switched to packages-incoming, updated my rootfs and... X works!
Did you change something into the kernel? I didn't take time to have a look at it.
So, now I'll be able to test the next Core ISO :)
Hi Ceel,
Thanks for test, nice to see you have boot successfully and have graphical env ;).
Diff between last iso on 20231107 :
- webkit2gtk 2.34.6 (2.4.11)
=> in case no clash with soname, libwebkit use 'lib*-1.0.so', webkit2gtk 2.34.x use 'lib*-4.0.so', but libwebkit required libsoup 2.4 (2.73 keep same soname), to avoid clash keep /usr/lib/libsoup248, only call by libwebkit, not need to have /etc/ld.so.conf or LD_LIBRARY_PATH hack.
Tazweb has happy with libsoup 2.73, and libwebkit himself with /usr/lib/libsoup248.
- midori 9.0 (0.5.11 too old and build break)
- gcc 8.3.0 (6.3.0)
- glibc 2.28 (2.23)
- Mesa / Mesa DRI 21.5 (9.2.5)
- Xorg stack 1.20.14 (1.12.4)
=> bump synaptics, vesa to follow xorg ABI compliant.
I build and patch xorg-xf86-video-intel with glibc/gcc upgrade (required for my EeePC).
Need check for build all other drivers.
- libdrm 2.4.109 (2.4.100)
- Kernel 4.19.298 (4.19.294) => maybe need rebuild it (latest patch .299 release Nov 20th ;))
In case for kernel, i don't change anything, use oldconfig only to rebuild with latest minor.
i notice this during my mass rebuild for new stack gcc/glibc :
- need split llvm package to bin / lib / dev, infact we only need lib for mesa-dri.

Bonjour,
Suite essai CUPS.
Slitaz 5 Rolling (version SliTaz GNU/Linux - 5.0-RC4 20231001).
Installation cups + deps, puis install pilote imprimante + install perl & deps.
Sous leafpad, l'imprimante apparaît dans la fenêtre (cf. image jointe) et l'impression peut être lancée.
Tandis que la version en cours de développement, l'imprimante n'apparaît pas clairement comme périphérique d'impression.
Merci.
Amitiés.

Hi all,
CUPS test continued.
Slitaz 5 Rolling (SliTaz GNU/Linux version - 5.0-RC4 20231001).
Install cups + deps, then install printer driver + install perl & deps.
Under leafpad, the printer appears in the window (see attached image) and printing can be started.
While the version is under development, the printer is not clearly listed as a printing device.
Thanks.

Hello,
I did a rootfs for Core32 with packages incoming ; all seems working fine but I won't have to test more tonight.
Issue with Midori : unable to open a picture in a new tab.
Bonjour,
Merci.
Amitiés

Hello
CUPS test under SliTaz GNU/Linux - current 20231107 (slitaz-40-rolling).
Installing cups + deps, installing perl + deps, installing driver device printing.
Connecting the powered printer to the computer.
Launch of cups (http://localhost:631)
Adding Printer: OK
Printing from a terminal ($ lp printing.png): ok
Creating a document with Leafpad.
Menu File / Print (ctrl + P).
The window does not contain the make and model of the printer (see attached image).
At home, from midori private browsing, the attached picture in Ceel's post above is opened without problem with the default viewer (OS version : SliTaz GNU/Linux - current 20231107 (slitaz-40-rolling)).
Thank you.

Hi,
Alanyih, nice to see that running on more recent AMD.
I see you run 32bits kernel, we have also 64bits for 4.19 :).
Of course not more recent that your kernel in 5.4.x branch, i plan to provide 5.x and 6.x kernel but first stabilize version to have all basic tasks work (browse, print, play video/music, ...)
Rantanplan, need check and compare maybe i miss packages or feature miss.
Ceel, infact i reproduce it, to compare i check with Salix live 15.0, not issue for tabs, but oops page when try video page as youtube.
I need check if i do thing wrong when build midori/webkit2gtk.
Notice also in vm, i have issue for browse pages, for example duckduckgo.com
tazweb no problem, page display
midori not work, "oops something wrong" page
Hi,
Midori: open a web site; say https://forum.slitaz.org and open a topic.
Visit page 2 and then page 3.
Try to come back to the home page using the left key [←]; you only switch between page 2 / page 3 / page 2 / page 3...
Unable to use the BackSpace key in the address bar, same behaviour that left key.
Rather a bug in Midori than an issue with the package?
Midori again: trying to open the Home page https://www.slitaz.org/ → Ooops page; no problem with other pages; no problem with the Home page in other web browsers.
This happens with the /en page, not with the /fr ??
EDIT: Sorry, read left button, not key.
Hi shann,
kernel pae
Memory : 2961MB (384MB used)I also note to build kernel pae :)
Kernel : Linux 5.4.41-slitaz (x86_64)
Memory : 15788MB (706MB used)
Date/Time : Thu Jul 8 12:35:44 2021
Processor : 8x AMD Ryzen 7 5800H with Radeon Graphics Memory : 2961MB (384MB used) Operating System : Slitaz GNU/Linux current # free -m total used free shared buff/cache available Mem: 2891 355 1697 665 839 1784 Swap: 1445 0 1445
A PAE-enabled kernel should have more than 4GB RAM.
Hi,
For midori too unstable, i try both v7 v9, most of issues :( :
- issue with return key
- oops when open new tabs
- duckduckgo.com page failed, but ok with old (html.duckduckgo.com)
Think to keep 0.5.11 i build previously
Test with firefox-official (last 77 due of glibc 2.14).
But now we have more recent glibc 2.23, i test few last esr version.
115 esr => artefact with buttons (think related to gtk3 theme)
102.15.1 esr work as weel, no glitch with themes, duckduckgo.com page work
I bump firefox-official with this release
Work on my dell x300, but display slow websites duckduckgo / youtube (sound ok with apulse)
Also build qupzilla (1.8.9 last with qt4, check for falkon with qt5).
I forget to said, i begin stuff for linux-pae, linux-pae-4.19.298 available, need to update receipt to pack other modules (wireless, drm, ...)
You must log in to post.
