Re: Slitaz Kernel Performance and Scheduling Options

There is an official undigested repo and package cooker, but it's meant for cooking and you need commit access to use it. You'd need to ask pankso, Bellard or any of the other head developers to get that. Feel free to make your own though.

Re: Slitaz Kernel Performance and Scheduling Options

Yes, my comment was for PAE. With Slitaz 4 (I realised Kultex, above, was probably playing with cooking).

It worked this time, i had selected the pentium pro architecture, i believe. Will do some more testing when time allows.

The previous PAE test a few months ago i had selected a more advanced processor type (dont remember which one), it compiled, and many things did not work as expected, I apologize I did not notes on what I did.

I think the compile time is in the 20-25minutes range.

I have an i5 with 8GB and _64 ubuntu like, and probably use routinely about 4-5 GB just for applications; a large chunk is used for buffers and the rest as cache.

As much as I love Slitaz, I have not been able to switch completely to it, there has always been a piece missing, the gap has slowly been filled in in the last 3 years however... Now it supports > 4GB, I will reconsider that, if I can solve the daily backup issue wink
