Hello
I am tying to start a python script with qt, but no qt found. :S
in script it's like this:
form qt import *

You need these packages:
Example: # tazpkg get-install qt4
Similar to the above post I am trying to run a two line script...
#!/user/bin/python
import wx
but get ImportError: No module named wx
Using python 2.7 interactively and
>>> help('modules wx')
no results appear although wx.py was expected.
tazpkg search wx
shows 1 installed package namely wxpython 2.8.12.1 x-windowtazpkg get-install wxpython-2.8.12.1 --forced
Is anyone using the wxPython package or have any further ideas to try pls apart from attempting a fresh cookutils wxpythonXXX.tazpkg generation that appears a wee bit daunting?
... you still need wxWidgets
tazpkg get-install wxWidgets-2.8.12.1
tazpkg -gi wxpython-2.8.12.1
wxpython-2.8.12.1 is already installed etc.
tazpkg -gi wxWidgets-2.8.12.1
wxWidgets-2.8.12.1 is already installed etc.
tazpkg search wx
wxWidgets 2.8.12.1 x-window.
wxpython 2.8.12.1 x-window.
2 installed package(s) found for : wx
python
>>> help('modules wx')
No matches found.
>>> help('modules')
Other matches but nothing starting with wx.
Run 2 line program below...
#!/usr/bin/python
import wx
ImportError: No module named wx
Incidentally regarding above
find / -name wx.py -print 2>/dev/null
does not give any matches; but on the other hand it doesn't on a Ubuntu system happily running wxpython programs.
Two things. You clearly don't have wxPython installed. And the second thing, the file is NOT NAMED wx.py since it's not a python script, but a compiled C library and is probably named wx.pyo.
Read http://wiki.wxpython.org/How%20to%20install%20wxPython#Linux_-_Building_from_the_source on how to install it yourself or learn how to make the interface in PyGTK (and the subset Glade), PyQT or gazpacho - all of which are included with SliTaz 3
That or you can switch to SliTaz 4RC2 and use the wxpython package provided by it.
Same problem here. I install the packages python, wxpython and wxwidgets, but when I type
>>> help('modules wx')
Python does not seem to see the installed modules.
@Trixar_za:
> You clearly don't have wxPython installed.
Then why does the command tazpkg search wx
confirm that package wxpython is indeed there?
I have a similar issue, too.
I have just installed Wammu, but when trying to launch it from the Applications menu, nothing happens.
Going over to terminal, here's the output:
$ wammu
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/usr/bin/wammu", line 31, in <module>
import Wammu.Locales
File "/usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages/Wammu/Locales.py", line 31, in <module>
import wx
ImportError: No module named wx
I have both wxWidgets and wxPython installed.
What other packet do I need to run Wammu?
