LCD on laptop "whites out" instead of dimming when going to sleep.(6 posts) (2 voices)
bump,,,, any takers?
I am still having this issue. I dont know what to do about it, the HP laptop lcd washes out completely white when it is supposed to black out. This is a triple boot machine, the Unix and windows partitions power save functions work fine ,so I know its not a hardware issue.
Any advice at all?
I feel sorry that you haven't recieved any help in 3 months, yet I cannot help, this is the first time I've heard about this problem... Have you tried reconfigering the Xorg? Not sure if tazx works in 3.0 as I've never used it but it may be worth a shot.
I have tried using TazX to reconfigure Xorg. IT made no difference. The graphics are ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD 2600, maybe I dont have proper radeon modules loaded?
I really Like my 3.0 setup, and dont want to make the change to 4.0 right now.
I thought I would post more info since noone has wanted to touch this, This issue is related to ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2600 and Linux Drivers, or rather the fact that ATI has not and probably will not make linux drivers for this line of video cards. I am running Slitaz 3.0 since 4.0 cannot display X. So in the future this might be helpfull to some people with this variety of Video Card, My portable workstation is an HP 8510P, which has a modular Video card. I just bought an Nvidia Quadro FX570M G84GLM video card to replace it with on Ebay, hopefully I can get up and running on 4.0 with it.Posted 5 months ago #
