I didn't know this suite. I'm going to test it on my old PC.
Thank you to share kultex
very nice soft. it works smooth on my lifebook p7010 and has nearly everything I need.
Thank you very much for the link for this fabulous office suite ;-)
Pregunto: Se instalaría el paquete deb. en cuestión bien en Slitaz 4. Lo he instalado en Mint y perfecto y es cierto que es muy liviano.
it depens on how you use SliTaz -
SliTaz installation:
you take either the32bit deb or rpm Version and convert it with
tazpkg convert
and install it with tazpkg install
but you can use also the tgz version
SliTAz frugal:
take the tgz and install it to home -
can we have a Libre-office with this size ?
moulefrite: Unlikely. Even without Java, LibreOffice is still pretty big.
kultex: Why not just provide the package or will it be too big to convert and upload?
because evry download counts and the tgz version works without problems
but
softmaker I think is going to make this version available for linux, so maybe, we can provide in future a tazpkg
I hope, you will understand it using google translate

main part translated by google:
Hi all,
I received today the official release:
As the first German distribution contains fluxflux after consultation with the company SoftMaker now the new-Free SoftMaker Office for Linux. Herein, the word processor TextMaker, the spreadsheet Ashampoo PlanMaker, and the presentation program Presentations are included.
I for fluxflux via Python / Webkit integrated a script from the desktop to complete the registration for the free serial number. (see attachments)
SoftMaker special thanks for helping with the integration fluxflux.
The package is as softmaker-free office installed via menu-system tools-Gslapt.

Incredible this Office suite!!! :)
I hardly find a point where it's NOT better than Libre or Open office .
Just perheaps the appearence which would be better if it comes with a gtk integration.
At last, we have something which is not to bad to cop with complexe .docx
A .tazpkg would be a wonderful idea
you just can download
http://www.freeoffice.com/en/download
and then choose the .tgz version - the good thing is, you can install it in /home - so it does not count memory, when you use SliTAz frugal
I find it very good too.
I have the free (2008) version, I read from the do the current version must be much better (it has .docx and better shortcut support).
I consider trying and buying it.
I installed successfully Softmaker Office 2008, I like this software even if it is not libre because it is very light and works with less than 96 MB of RAM in Windows as in Linux, it weighs less than 150 MB already installed.
I downloaded the package for Linux: with extension tar.gz (or something) and at the end of download it I opened it normally and installed and ran.
This software is only free is registered with a name and email address and you send the code number to your email, I did it 3 days ago.
I've just found one limitation (or bug) in free version:
In PlanMaker (Excel) you can name an area, but it's not possible to use it for calculations afterwards.
Anyone can confirm?
no, I did
Many Thanks ! Excellent office suite !!!
Even this will generate a lot of debate, I suggest that this office to be included by default in Slitaz5 along with QtWeb.
Let's make from Slitaz5 the release with all neccesary tools for any Linux begginer.
Regards,
Tibi
