Today I was working in AbiWord, and after closing, the taskbar(the bar at the bottom of the screen or how was it named) dissappeared. I rebooted the computer, but no result.

The taskbar is missing!

Log out of X session for the account with missing bottom panel, login to X session as a different user. Does bottom panel appear?

I logged in as root, because I have only 2 profiles in the computer. The bottom panel appeared.
That means a file is missing from my lxpanel profile, isn't it?Posted 12 years ago # -
There is a bug with lxpanel where if the user makes a change to one panel on next login the other panel doesn't appear. For both panels to appear requires 2 configs named bottom and panel or no configs. If you make a change it only sets the config for the panel you modified. Having 1 config prevents the other panel from appearing. I modify both top and bottom panel to get around the problem so it writes both configs. Without any configs in the users account it defaults to
the global configuration in /etc/lxpanel/slitaz/panelsTo bring back both panels:
rm ~/.config/lxpanel/slitaz/panels/*
For user tux:
rm /home/tux/.config/lxpanel/slitaz/panels/*
Logout/in X sessionPosted 12 years ago # -
Thanks, it worked! So that means I shouldn't make any changes to only one panel.
Anyway, I'm glad it's back.Posted 12 years ago # -
Change both top and bottom panels and you won't have a problem.
For example I require a 12hr am/pm clock which is located in top panel.
I change digital clock settings to%A %d %B - %l:%M %p
I like bottom panel default config so I make minor change of ICON pixel from 22 to 21
Not noticeable but it set's the bottom config file so both panels appear.Reference: http://doc.slitaz.org/en:releases:4.0:errata
