nvidia-173xx wrong variable and need upgrade to 173.14.28 version for use with xorg-server 1.9.x

This "$KERNEL_VERSION" variable cannot read by cookutils and just creating "-slitaz" folder and correct folder is "2.6.37-slitaz". Change to "$kvers" and add some symlink to get this driver working. Downloads my nvidia-173xx-receipt.patch.txt, rename to nvidia-173xx-receipt.patch to patch receipt file.

Please see http://www.nvidia.com/object/linux_display_ia32_173.14.25.html the nvidia-173.14.25 is for xorg-server version 1.7, and i have been tested with my NVidia GForce FX 5500 and can cause a failure for starting xorg-server with error log in Xorg.0.log:

and please rooling down, nvidia-173.14.27 fail on ubuntu 10.10 with xorg-server 1.9 rc5:

The correct driver is nvidia-173.14.28 for xorg-server version 1.9.x, and i have been

tested. please see:

also can use a lates version nvidia-173.14.30, new version nvidia-173.14.31 and i have been tested.

And for nvidia-96xx need upgrade to and add some symlink to get this driver working. Soon as I get the nvidia card.

Thanks mojo, but there is a sense of curiosity about adding xorg-libXv into nvidia-173xx dependency, because I can not find any documentation if nvidia (non-free) use this library. What is the function or reason to enter this module into dependency ?.

nvidia-settings error message without xorg-libXv

tux@blending:~$ nvidia-settings

Wow... because so far I use the mouse, so I'm forget the "rules on linux" to checking in the terminals too if maybe still any errors. Thanks mojo, to remind me about the rules in linux "Do not ever leave the terminal consule".
