I update packages almost daily and after the update made on 20th of March Slitaz does not start its GUI.
It stops after "Welcome to your box" with another line that says: "/usr/bin/slim/: error while loading shared libraries: libjpeg.so.8: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory"
I don't know which one or ones of the updated packages caused this.
Anyways, I reinstalled Slitaz and din't update it. This days I was looking for updates without missing a day because after the ClamAV and Clamtk packages updated 3 or so weeks ago to versions 0.101.1 and 5.27, clamtk stoped working.

After 20th of March packages update Slitaz does not start its GUI

My advice is don't update, the repo is in an inconsistent state. If you install something new there is a good chance it won't work.
Downgrading to the attached libjpeg-8c.tazpkg which provides libjpeg.so.8 may get slim working again.
jpeg-8c is another critical lib that libjpeg is split from that may be required.Posted 6 years ago # -
The package slim, created on 2019-03-20T22:10 links to libjpeg.so.9 and slim is started properly.
It is available at
http://cook.slitaz.org/index.cgi?download=slim-1.3.5.tazpkg
or in the near future from the package repository.Posted 6 years ago # -
Some other programs, for example tazweb, were affected also.
When the package libwekkit-video-1.8.3, created 2019-03-20T20:10http://cook.slitaz.org/index.cgi?download=libwebkit-video-1.8.3.tazpkg is installed, these programs will (hopefully) work properly again.

Hi mojo
You mean don't update daily?, how often do you use to update?.
I only have the base Slitaz installed on only one ext3 partition (I used to prefer ext2 but had a lot of "hdd check forced" in many boots until I switched to ext3) and I add this extra packages: Brasero, Bleachbit, Prboom, ClamAV, Clamtk and Palemoon then I remove Midori, Midori video, Nanochess and Sudoku so not a lot of extra packages as you can see, anyways, as I said whatever broke Slitaz had to be in the packages updated the 20th or 19th.
So I understand there's no need to post here when a package doesn't work as whoever updated it already knows? like in ClamAV 0.101.1 and Clamtk 5.27?, when you updated Clamtk to 4.37 it worked perfectly, when I reinstalled Slitaz, I decided to use ClamAV 0.101.1 but I installed your Clamtk 4.37 so now it works till 5.27 get repaired.
Thanks for your attachments but I already reinstalled Slitaz, I simply used a Slitaz iso cd to recover a couple files on the affected HDD and then reformated everything. Thanks HGT
So I understand the problem is now solved in the repo and it is safe to update packages through Package Manager Check Upgrades again?Posted 6 years ago # -
After I checked all packages, that depend on jpeg or libjpeg, and recompiled some of them (and Pascal Bellard seems to have recompiled some more), now all packages in the cooking repository should use jpeg 9c.
Maybe there are some packages that do not declare the dependency from jpeg explicitly in the recipe. Please report failures of such programs.Posted 6 years ago # -
Thank you all

I didn't dare to install all updates till today.
Everything works but clamtk 5.27 is still non working, after clicking the menu icon, a couple seconds of activity is shown in the HDD then stops but nothing else happens.Posted 6 years ago # -
clamtk-5.27 starts but freshclam which is part of clamav chokes at 50% CPU trying to update the database.

For me, clamtk doesn't start at all, no GUI, when I was in your clamtk 4.37 update there wasn't any problem, clamtk started, GUI on screen and I could start all its functions, the problem is the repo update to clamtk 5.27.
My preferences for your 4.37 and the previous version 4.36 (which survived on the repo for a long time till you kindly update it to 4.37) were not to automatically update on startup, I did it manually, then I combined the updated clamav 0.101.1 with your 4.37 and no problems at all.
It's my laptop which doesn't shaw clamtk 5.27, after clicking its menu icon, HDD reads for a couple seconds and then stops without showing anything on screen.
I use Slitaz in my collection of 150 laptops, all P4, D and Celerons so all 32 bit systems, not sure if this will be of any help for knowing why clamtk 5.27 doesn't start but 4.36 and your 4.37 do, there were no problems with clamav 0.101.1 and the previous repo version 0.99.x.
Can the clamtk 5.27 in the repo be downgraded to any other lower version?.
Thanks again for your time.Posted 6 years ago # -
Which was the problem with previous 5.27?, a new update was made available with same clamtk 5.27 version but now it boots but it says antivirus signatures are outdated then I click the update, it seems nothing is downloaded as progress bar reaches its end in half a second saying updated, I close clamtk and start it again and it keeps saying antivirus signatures are outdated.
I'll try to update again in a day or two and see if this persists.
Thanks for the update.Posted 6 years ago # -

Thanks Bellard for taking care of its dependencies

Confirmed, I can't update signatures using clamtk 5.27 manual update.
I had to update them using clamav CLI typing freshclam.
The other functions in clamtk work correctly but it flickers every time I press its back button.Posted 6 years ago #
