The sequence following loopback configuration:
Network card is activated and udhcpc is run to obtain i.p. address.
Remove the network adapter or if part of motherboard deactivate it in the bios to see if it stops the boot hang.
i disabled on-board 'broadcom ethernet controller' in bios, but the boot hang still occurs.
odd... i can still connect to internet with ethernet controller disabled.
aw..c'mon....i'm still waiting...
I guess i'm not going to get any help here. I'm going to have to buy some copies of W7 for all my computers because I am now totally disgusted with dead-beat linux communities. NO SUPPORT. At least windows operating systems work...and their support forums have people who help. If your objective is to get people to go back to windows, you're doing a good job.
Yeah, I would demand for my money back... oh wait.. you didn't pay a cent nor did you you pay any of us to provide support to you. We're a small community and this issue has been discussed before. A simple search would have found the solution for you.
The wrong answer, Trixar! You couldn't be arsed to post a reply (any reply!) to Rita's original question. Why do you come out now, with what looks like one last kick in the face of someone who has dared to ask for support? It's arrogant put-downs like this that make people turn away from this forum and seek help elsewhere. In the long run such behavior will harm the entire project. It certainly poisons the atmosphere here in the forum.
Since he didn't bother to respond it's pretty clear he is gone. My response was pretty held back considering how bad I got in the past. It's also clear your own response didn't add anything to help him either but rather (to use your own words) 'a last kick in the face' directed at me.
Like somebody once pointed out on the old forum (before I even got here), SliTaz is not easy. It and it's community requires that those that attempt to use it understand this. We also require that the person has some basic trouble shooting skills, namely the ability to read the documentation, use a forum search function and of course the ability to use google. Those that lack this ability always end up throwing hissy fits when we don't help them fast enough for their liking. Namely Rita G here. It's also an issue that has been dealt with before ( http://forum.slitaz.org/topic/boot-scripts ) and it was fixed. I think we need more users like him.
I'm a user like you and I don't have a dev account. I answer questions out of experience and I generally solve my own problems when they arise mostly by using google. I do not have in depth knowledge of SliTaz nor do I claim I do. Yes, I have some knowledge of it and that is mostly hard-won. Hate me if you want but don't expect me to coddle you because I wasn't when I got here.
