Hi MADMAN,
I suppose if you hit the Tab key at the second menu and add
home=
UUID-of-your-flash at the end of the command line, it should work.Posted 9 years ago # -
Hi,
Please, read Unusual install methods > Loop install. It is not very easy to understand (I do not fully understand :), but it seems that this is what you need.
Also, differently, you can specify:
home=usb
in the boot options (when you started a Live CD and it asks you for boot options), and SliTaz will store your home folder on your USB flash. Note, in this method installed packages are not stored, your changes to any file are not stored as well. Your USB flash will store only your home. But it is more easy method than loop install. You can customize SliTaz when you use "home=usb":
- Add *.tazpkg packages to the
/home/boot/packages/
and SliTaz will install them in a boot time. - Add custom files to the
/home/boot/rootfs/
and SliTaz will overwrite original files in a boot time (for example:/home/boot/rootfs/etc/TZ
will be copied to/etc/TZ
.)
I lived for some time with this method and say that it's not bad. Although, I must say that the USB flash is significantly slower than a hard disk; booting occurs rather slowly; RAM is used more in the Live CD mode to contain a system entirely in it. So soon I installed SliTaz on a hard disk, and still is.Good luck!

Thank you Aleksej I used it and everything is working perfectly fine.
But I need to use wine it was working untill I didn't shut down the system after first install. of cource I copied all of *.tazpkg files to the package firectory in boot at /home other softwares are working perfectly good but this one not here is more details about that:
in sakura(terminal emulator) i type wi and press the tab button it's comleting automatically to wine and enter the file name need to be run and nothing's happened no error and no job!
In the file manager when i right click on the *.exe file there is no wine program loader in the list!
what should i do to fix this.
before i shut down the system, wine was working fine.
