Hi tvicol,
No,using a microcode_ctl utility requires CONFIG_MICROCODE=Y
http://cateee.net/lkddb/web-lkddb/MICROCODE.html
The kernel option to use microcode_ctl is not set:
Slitaz-4.0 on my computer:
root@slitaz:/home/tux# zcat /proc/config.gz | grep CONFIG_MICROCODE
# CONFIG_MICROCODE is not set
Cooking:
http://hg.slitaz.org/wok/file/522b73e60215/linux/stuff/linux-slitaz.config
Line 357 => # CONFIG_MICROCODE is not set
Hi mojo,
Thanks for your answer.
Do you think this can be set to Y by default ?
Maybe old and new CPU´s may benefit from this.

Tibi
noticed for 5.0, but as module - not built in the kernel
Will be nice !
Thanks !
