Hi, its me. I just missed you all so much I had to say hi. If only that were the case. I do, however, seem to have a hard time logging in. I've gotten the "Failed to execute login command" and VERY RARELY does F1 fix my problems. I believe there was a solution to prevent that from happening again, but I do not know what it was/where to find it. I've searched the forums and very wisely decided against googling it. Sometimes, opening the box and typing in "startx" will get it to work. Sometimes it lets me in, but there is no desktop image visible. Running Slitaz 3.0 on a Windows XP Professional 5.1.2600. Something I should add, if I log in using CTRL+ALT+BACKSPACE and do not become superuser and type in "startx", it will list three options, of which I pick "Close X window". That has logged me in perfectly. But this has only worked once after reinstalling Slitaz 3.0

try:
startx && sleep 5 && openbox-session
not sure if the sleep is needed, but it works.

On rolling release slitaz-core if /home (grub bootcode home=) is mounted on a fat32 partition,Slim login will always fail.
Whatever programs need to access .Xauthority or recreates it if you delete it is unable to.
I've remounted /home with different umask, dmask, fmask, which changes permissions and owners from console, slim login still fails.Posted 13 years ago #
