Not sure how well this will work for everybody else but here's how I did it:
1. Install Sakis3g from http://www.trixarian.net/downloads/sakis3g-s4.tazpkg
2. Start Sakis3g as root and connect with it (Alternative you can press 2 to get to More Options... and then press 3 to just switch the modem and bind to an port)
3. Install Gnocky from http://www.trixarian.net/downloads/gnocky-0.0.7.tazpkg
4. Just start Gnocky from Applications--> Utilities--> Gnocky Phone Manager and click the Read from Phone buttons under Phone Book and SMS

If this doesn't work, you may want to play with /etc/xdg/gnokii/config to make the settings work for you :)
