   Hi,
   I installed slitaz-4.0. It's booting to console/text mode. I can log in as root or any other user I make.
   After some forum search I tried the command "startx" then it gives this msg:

   ###########

   /root/.xsession: .: line 3: can't open '/root/.config/slitaz/application.conf

   ###########

   I'm not sure that 'startx' was right command but I tried it. :s

   How to boot to Graphical Desktop?

   as i already said

   try 'slim'
   and check slim log

   Sorry, I didn't get 'slim' was a command.

   I tried it as root,non-root both. It says it's not found.
   ########################
   root@slitaz:~# slim
   -sh: slim: not found
   ########################

   Try as root

   /etc/init.d/slim start

   That should do it.

   Reinstall slim:
   # tazpkg -gi slim --forced

   Slim login manager should start provided the installation is not broken and the user is
   not booted into base version which doesn't include slim and Xorg.

   Hi,
   I tried a suggested. 'slim' is not found on /etc/init.d
   & Looks like the 'tazpkg' is trying to connect Internet.
   I uploaded a photo of it.

   Can slim installed from CD?

   slim is on the default CD

   Can you boot at all from the CD ? and slim (the graphical environment) starts ?

   Yes, it boots to the Graphical desktop.

   Problems with launching the desktop in Slitaz 4.0 appear, when you start in text mode every time in
   live modus/frugal install or the first time in a full install. The normal action, when you want to
   start the desktop from the console, is the command “startx“. But as you can see in startx, it refers
   to an existing “.xsession”. And .xession wants to get the windowmanager from $HOME/.config/slitaz/
   applications.conf. But that file does not exist. You can do the following - create your own startx,
   lets say mystartx with the following content:

   nano /usr/bin/mystartx

   #!/bin/sh
   Xorg &
   exec openbox-session

   chmod +x /usr/bin/mystartx
