Hallo, I have booted off the the livecd on my portege 2000, everything works pretty much out of the box. However, when I go for the HD install, I create an ext4 partition using gparted (where the OS files and my home directory are) and install it there (there's a swap partition too). When rebooting, i got the grub error 15. So i rebooted off the livecd to try edit my /boot/grub/menu.lst, mounting my sda1. But when i tried mounting, i get the "invalid argument" message (i try mounting it on /mnt/xxx). So i retried the HD install formatting to ext3 when i was prompted by the slitaz installer, and have things his own way, and of course even here installed grub. At this point, when rebooting, i get the grub error 21, which allows a minimum of commands, but now can't figure out much. Any suggestions? thanks!

slitaz-3.0 kernel 2.6.30.6 cannot be installed on an ext4 partition
Explains grub error 15 "File not found" with install to ext4 partition.
Older hardware with ide interface hard drives are assigned /dev/hda , /dev/hdb etc..
root@slitaz:-# fdisk -l
Outputs the device names assigned to the drives partitions.
Could explain why your attempt to mount /dev/sda1 fails with "invalid argument".
If you installed slitaz-3.0 on the first partition of an older computer with (1) ide hard drive, this should boot it.
When grub menu appears hit the c key
At the grub prompt type whats bold:
grub> root (hd0,0)
Enter
grub> kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.30.6-slitaz root=/dev/hda1
Enter
grub> boot
EnterAdd the root and kernel commands that work to /boot/grub/menu.lst

well basically since it did bot mount my /sda1 (I guess) i was unable to access some major commands, like Kernel (root (hd0,0) gave inexistant partition). So i created a new partition using all my hd, formatted ext3, and installed it there. Grub went fine, everything now works, except for my wireless lan (it works perfectly with puppy) it's an orinoco_cs, for which i guess i can load the driver, even if I don't know what firmware to use, i suppose i'll stick to the first one, see how it goes. My first few attempts gave me no joy, so now i'll fiddle around with it, but i believe i must somehow cancel the ethernet connection i used to install slitaz.
Should you have any suggestions, I'll be glad to hear them!
thank you!
