1. Do you observe this behaviour only with the root account? e.g. try to change the pwd of your normal user account also
2. version: please do this:
cat /etc/slitaz-version
SliTaz GNU/Linux - 5.0-RC4 20180325Posted 6 years ago # -
root@slitaz:/tmp# cat /etc/slitaz-version

Hi Gopal
SliTaz includes a lot of user friendly figures!
Why will you use a root password or change it: tux is also root using "sudo" (without password!) so that make the standard password from root doesn't change a lot! each one can make about all things directly as tux through "sudo"...
But you can easily change it both in the SliTaz panel:
- you can attribute a password to tux
- you can introduce a supplementary user with a password (and delete or not delete tux! ) or without some password
- you can change eache password from each user including "root".but take care don't to forget the old ones immediately or the new ones: if you does it wrong, you would after never be able to enter into the system again.
and you can, of course, do all that in CLI in the console (the wiki inform you how to do that in a lot of languages...)

I've read several pages re log-in name and password, but cannot find an answer to my question! First of all, I dl the iso for rolling release. I also placed it on sdhc card with multi-boot app. It does NOT boot from there, so, I burned iso to CD. During boot process when it finally gets to where it asks for "user name" and "password", whatever I put in is deemed WRONG! Will somebody please give me an assist?
Many thanks, in advance.Posted 6 years ago # -
