Hello, I have this problem with the installation of slitaz rolling 5, update date: 09/13/2020.
When I start the PC, the user start option arrives and when I put my password it gives an error "failed to execute login command" and it does not start, then I log in as root and if I log in, only as root user.
I have the disk formatted in ext4.
Installation does not start as user (only as root)

Hello,
It seems there was a bug in a package at the end of august.
Login as root, open TazPanel then Settings > Users , and re-enter your password.

I did all the steps you told me and it didn't work.
I'm still having the same problem.
I can only start as root user.
I also changed the password from the terminal with passwd, but it didn't work either.Posted 4 years ago # -

Having the same problem with latest rolling on VirtualBox. Installed using ISO dated 10/24/2020. MD5 sum is:
df091ebea3e9cf22c7b1f9f619b1e4d0
This matches what is listed on the website. Tried resetting the password for user tux but am still getting "failed to execute login command". Can log in and use the system as root.
Edit: this is with all available upgrades installed.

Hi there,
i had this phenomenon quite often when I copied the user's home directory (or parts of it) while being root. This leads to owner/group settings as root which can't be accessed as user.
For me, the following procedure solved the problem:
1.) log in as root
2.) cd to /home
3.) chown -R [user].[user] [user]
(which means for example:chown -R tux.tux tux
)
4.) log out
5.) log in as userGood luck!
