Installing from CD a new iso with old home directory

Well to make a long story short. Right now I don-t have the right keymap, and things are not working properly in other areas. So I have decided to do a new installation. But I do not want to lose the files I have in my home directory. I have tried upgrading but it doesn't fix things either. It seems that maybe the solution is to use tazlito, but I have never used this command before.

Can anybody tell me what will be the command or sequence of commands necessary to created a CD with a new iso image but having my home directory in the CD. I want to do a new installation to hard disk but with my old home directory. Is that possible?

This is no problem. You boot from the new CD.Then you copy the content of your old home directory into the new home directory. If you would like to keep all the settings, bookmarks etc. this is also possible. A quick run:
'# zip -r old.home.zip /home/tux/*
and then copy this zip file to your new home directory.
Then, as root, just type
tazlito writeiso
in a root console, of course. A moment later you will find this new .iso-file in
/home/slitaz/distro/rootcd/boot/
- so you can copy this to wherever you want and burn it.
