Have an older pc and trying to revive with SliTaz. Everything works fine with live usb (using the pc right now posting this). Installed slitaz on hard drive and when booting on HD, it stops at "Loading console keymap". Even after I added lang=en_US and kmap=en_US, it still will not boot.

What version of SliTaz? In case of Rolling: try to add noswap kernel option in bootloader.

Thanks az_ua for the response. I tried your suggestion but it did not work. And yes, I'm using the rolling version. Will play with it some more later when I get the chance.
Any other suggestion you may have will be appreciated. Thanks again

Don't forget to remove "quiet" in cmdline, you will may get more detailed messages.

Try to run command in live mode:
badblocks -nvs /dev/sda
Change "/dev/sda" to partition on which SliTaz was installed.
If you will get no errors, I can't suggest anything more except try to format it again and reinstall with different install options.Posted 8 years ago # -
I removed the "quiet" boot option and it definitely gave more info but too fast for me to read. I then boot live usb again and looked in the /var/log folding of my sda2 hard drive and there were no log reports.
Tried reinstalling slitaz and gave me same result. I decided to try another keyboard and that's when I noticed something. The keyboard that my daughter is using is an old ps2 keyboard and it is connected to a 2 in 1 ps2 to usb adapter that takes both ps2 mouse and keyboard to a single usb port. Could this be the problem? But why will it work with no problem with live usb? Only a keyboard is connected to it. No PS2 mouse hooked up.
I haven't tried the badblocks command yet as I don't believe there's a problem with my hard drive. Will do that later though.

After reformatting my hard drive the third time, this time formatting to ext4 and then reinstall, the pc finally booted up with no problem. All devices including wifi usb adapter are working. Old PC performing like a champ once again. :-) Thank you.
