I am having to type slowly because if I type quickly midori ( this post) freezes. Why would that be ?
first install of the little cd ( 3 ) to hard drive; rebuild kernel with scsi support went well. then I messed up trying to move the grub bootloader to one of the scsi disks so I thought easiest option to start again from CD but this time in
"make menuconfig"
in low level scsi drivers there is no symbiosXXX support only sym53C8XX version2 support. I swear the first time below that there was option symbios support.
Why would it be different? upshot is kernel is not seeing scsi drives.

If you're on Slitaz 3.0 chances are you are using Midori 0.2.4 which was rather buggy, particularly on input fields, where a single backspace could bring the entire browser to a grinding hold. If you want to stick with Midori its best to wait for Slitaz 4.0 or, if you dare, use the current rolling release, which runs quite stable and comes with Midori 0.4.4. I'm currently using Midori 0.4.4 and, as you can see, it works very well :-)

I tried to install 4 but it stops after inputting the keyboard and language, there is a flashing cursor but after waiting 15 minutes I gave up. concerning make menuconfig in the light of dawn it is clear that I didn't install the linux-scsi modules package this time, I will do that right away.
[edit] spoke too soon, linux-scsi modules was installed so why is option not available in make menuconfig ?Posted 13 years ago # -
