First.....Congratulations to the Slitaz Time....
I´m a new pt_BR Slitaz user…and newby in Linux since Nov/2010.
I´m Letonian descendent and I have searched Austrumi too… but there is no Brazilian lang.
I have worked Siltaz alone and quietly and now I decided to join with yours.
I´m learning Linux with Slitaz.
My job is Computer Hardware Repair…specially Motherboards ( MoBos ).
In my job I cannot lost time with heavy software.
Slitaz has been my great and daily mistress.
DrFutrik was named me by my daughter…because the great DIY things I have made.
My story with Slitaz…
I know DOS since 1970 when I made my furniture job in a IBM 1620 with the Fortran 35..
In 2010 I received a big lot of CD/DVD drives, to test in reading… and burning…
I began with DOSCDROAST….then XCDROAST…then a lot of mini-distros…then Slitaz.
For me the Slitaz 3.0 Xvesa is the best one…because I job a lot of chipsets ( Intel, Via. Sis, Nvidia, etc ) and X11 is specific for one MoBo. I tested Slitaz 4.0 RC2, but it is not so good and it have a little bug in the Brazilian Desktop.
Slitaz is fantastic in testing memory, video, audio, usb and lan chipsets.
I have tested the new I5 and the old P3 Slot 1 MoBos….Slitaz works well.
As you know, Linux dont work with bad memories.and the kernell refuses chipsets problems.
By other way Slitaz can see the Internal Hardware without unmounting the PC, using dnidecode and lspci. I compiled one LiveCd with HWInfoforDOS hosted in 4shared. It is nice too.
In my daily job I use the Slitaz 3.0 Xvesa remastered with dmidecode, dosfstools and ntfs.3g.
Well… this is something about me.
I have noted a Slitaz growing in the Web pages….and the newbies are coming to learn it.
My Plan…
My plan is to make a job with the newbies...as me… and asking yours for helping….and making sugestions to refine it…I like Slitaz very much…
Excuse my poor english…See yours by the way…Thanks.

lucian...many tks...
Last week i was fighting with the eth0>eth1 problem, made by tazlito.
When I use geniso all is OK...but geniso only works with packages list.
I´m testing Firefox 701 pt_BR with Flash11 ( trixarian ) and using writeiso.
It works...but i need configure eth1 in other MoBo. eth0 remain linked with the priginal network card.I made the cleaning and reconfigured network.conf and udev, but it hangs.
I saw the ernia´s post and others but i will try to resolve.I searched too the Archlinux udev. The problem is in rootfs.gz, because i use poweriso to hack and edit isolinux.cfg. Perhaps i will get success with the old system compiling rootfs.gz on Xterm.
I made this, times ago, in one TCL remastering...
See you later...Posted 12 years ago # -
You could translate parts of SliTaz to Brazilian Portuguese. We're always in need of translators.

Hello Trixar...
I did one pause to finish 3 MoBos repair.
I´m happy in posting to you, because i know your job.
In 2010, when i began to understand Linux, i visited yours posts.
I believe that i have time to translate.
When i decided entering to Slitaz time, i first send one invitation to login in the Software Livre do Brasil, waiting to find Claudinei to talk with him.
I had no unswer until now.
What kind of translation do you think? Would you like to open a new post?Posted 12 years ago # -
Read http://www.slitaz.org/i18n.php for a guide on what to do. Then request hg repository access on the mailing list so you can commit your translation of english text or ask somebody with access to do it for you. Sixdreams on IRC should be able to help you better since he's done the Bosnian translation recently.

Hi DrFutrik,
Nice story! I'm glad to read it.
I think if you have knowledge in various hardware, maybe you can tell what a kind of hardware support SliTaz lacks?Time goes away, and 3.0 is ancient one. SliTaz go forth to 5.0 release in the next year spring-summer season. Do you want if 5.0 will support some hardware? Maybe SliTaz lacks some kernel modules? What about kernel configuring?
I heard about poor internet in Brasil. Is it right? I want to say that SliTaz wanted to be tested well before 5.0 release. Unfortunately, SliTaz 4.0 released quickly and have some unpleasant bugs.

Hello Aleksej...
Happy in posting to you too...I have seen yours posts....
The problem in Brazil is the government...they can´t get control...
There is a crazy fighting around the wireless theme.
The wired connections are OK...but the non-wired is a confusion...
The 2 better sellers are TPLINK and DLINK...but more expensives.
I think that you must put appart the Brazilian problems, in the new cooking.
My sugestions now to the new kernell are:
1 >>>> More support to the usb non-wired...I´m talking about the keyboard/mouse controls.I think that you must insert news drivers. Perhaps to the wireless too.
2 >>>> More libraries to the chrome browser.
3 >>>> Midori speed control and news scripts...I searched that Midori is offering updates.
These are my notes now.. I´ll searched to you and post.

To Aleksej...
Some notes about my country...and motherboards...
As you have seen...my dayly job is motherboard´s repair...
The problem here is the weather...Some days we have 40 Celsius...
The default temperature to this machines is 25 Celsius...
So it is common to crash the Capacitors, Mosfets and PWM drivers.
The notebooks and play-games suffer...it´s common to break the welding of the chipsets...
The great supplier is the Positivo...but the quality is medium...
Now are coming the I5 motherboards...I believe that you have one I7 or better...
So our references from hardware are late...
A good question...the new touch-screen tendency for internet...how it will stay the desktops and notebooks?...Perhaps to audio/video editing and data handling...May be?Posted 12 years ago # -
To Aleksej...
Please point me a new post as...Kernell Updates for 50...or...Lacks Questions for 50...or similar.
I still don´t know the general rules of Slitaz forum.
Thanks...Posted 12 years ago #
