Try running alsamixer in a terminal, if you have dual soundcards, F6 will show them, check all columns available, you may just have to raise the volume.

Well here is something. I get audio only on the headphones but not the speakers, which tells me it might very well be the speakers.

I have separated columns for speakers and for headphones in the alsa mixer. What in your case?

Hi,
setmixer was replaced in system.sh by alsa init but I think we need both for first boot.
I'm going to build a test iso with system.shalsa init && setmixer
Every computer I've booted with 5.0-rc2 live cd the PCM is muted and the sound levels are too low.Sorry, I didn't realize this thread was about 4.0
