Hi ,
I cannot figure out changing screen resolution in slitaz once I have logged in .
Also is there any command available which reports current screen resolution .
I tried tazx but it just said 'quit quitter' driver & no way to reconfigure X.

I cannot figure out changing screen resolution in slitaz once I have logged in.
Applications/Preferences/Monitor Settings or
lxrandr
from terminal. Also is there any command available which reports current screen resolution.
xrandr
I tried tazx but it just said 'quit quitter' driver & no way to reconfigure X.
tazx requires an internet connection to download/install video drivers and can't be used if xorg-server is running.

xorg-xrandr ain't installed by default .
I was thinking about xdpyinfo . Ditto for that as well .
Anyway Now I can change screen resolution using 'xrandr -s <desired>'
But I found that changing to 800x600 from 1024x768 & reverting distorted the original.
Here is a screenshot.Posted 12 years ago # -
It's not installed in versions prior to SliTaz 4. My guess is that you're using SliTaz 3.
That distortion you're getting is because it's running the generic video driver instead of the right video driver for your system. So connect to the internet, run tazx and Install or Configure it. After that, a restart of Xorg (restart the machine) should fix it and the distortion will go away.

to mojo :- there isn't 'monitor setting' in preferences nor lxrandr command . Must be you were referring to 4 while I have 3.
Also imagemagick did not get proper screenshot (import -window root imdistorted.jpg) .
I don't find any edit button to remove that useless image from my previous post .yeah , I am using slitaz 3.
I have packages.iso image of 2GB which I like because it enables my offline computer to install.
Can I get some information & post somewhere to get driver offline ?Posted 12 years ago # -
The driver should be on the package disc. You should try the loop mount trick to mount the packages DVD to the right place: http://forum.slitaz.org/topic/slitaz-40-pakete-von-packages40iso-installieren
