i've testet SliTaz 4.0-RC3 on my very ancient computer (with AMD K6 processor and 256 MB RAM) and find it very nice.but i couldn't figure out how to setup my serial mouse on /dev/ttyS0 like i did e.g. on SliTaz 3.0.
is there any way for setting up serial mouses? it's an intellimouse.
thank's in advance for your assistance.

now i want to change the system on my ancient home computer as well. ps/2 port no have and the only usb port it has, i need for other stuff.Posted 13 years ago # -
I'll admit it. You have me stumped. Well, I can tell you the numbering of devices. Serial devices normally are ttyS0 and ttyS1 and you can see them (after they're connected) using the dmesg command. That's pretty much the extent of my knowledge of Serial devices. But maybe this guide will help:

@Trixar_za
thank's for the comment.
i exactly dit this on slitaz 3.0 and it worked fine (include the scroll fuction):"Device" "/dev/ttyS0"
"Protocol" "intellimouse"on slitaz 4.0-RC3 i added this to xorg.conf but unfortunately the system ignores this. the mouse is still without function.
i will put the dmesg command and post later the output.

at least i got the serial mouse running by resolvig the problem after i found a useful post in a previous topic:
(http://forum.slitaz.org/topic/i-do-not-recognize-my-mouse#post-8544)
so i followed the instructions as follows:
i searched and found inputattach_1.4.3-1_i386.deb, converted it to a tazpkg and installed it.
then i added in /etc/init.d/local.sh "/usr/bin/inputattach --daemon --intellimouse /dev/ttyS0"
after that i had to load module ser_mouse by adding this module in /etc/rcS.confnow it works fine for me and i can use siltaz-4.0 onto my ancient pc ;-) .
