My installed SliTaz does not shut down cleanly anymore. No matter how I shut down or try to reboot, the system goes down very quickly and shows TERMINATED
on the screen, but it does not power down. At the next boot, the file system has to be checked.
I kind of remember that this behavior started a little while ago after I had got some error message involving busybox, but I don't remember the details.
I am running slitaz-rolling of 2015-12-06.

Hi,
Did you update packages at some point? Busybox modules have been changed several times late December.
Check system messages: those of the previous run are in /var/log/messages.log.0 .

I have installed the most recent package of busybox.
I can't see anything relevant in messages.log.0.
The daemon.log says:
Jan 22 16:47:40 (none) daemon.info init: starting pid 2118, tty '': '/etc/init.d/rc.shutdown'
but it doesn't do what rc.shutdown says it should.
The shutdown.log says:
System is going down for reboot or halt.
16:47:40 up 2:17, 1 users, load average: 0.07, 0.15, 0.14
Iptables rules are disabled...
Starting inetd deamon: inetd... [ [1;32mDone[0;39m ]
but it does not shut down cleanly.Posted 9 years ago # -
If you remember approximately when the behavior started, try to look into /var/log/slitaz/tazpkg.log to find what packages changed at that time.

The work-around I have found for my problem of non-clean shutdown from X is to log on in a console and to run poweroff or reboot from there.

I use this countdown sleep timer on /etc/init.d/rc.shutdown
Block slitaz-boot-scripts from update so it isn't overwritten.Posted 9 years ago #
