hi all, im new to the linux scene, ive been browsing and trying out different versions of ubuntu for years and have finally decided to go and use it properly!
i came across slitaz whilst looking for a lightweight os and i want to say that you guys have done a great job and thank you for making it available to noobs like myself.
i am having a problem installing it on my old computer however, it seems to "hang" on "[<c0103927>]kernel_thread_helper+0x7/0x10"
does anyone know what this issue is and how can i work around it to get slitaz going on my old pc? i have tried installing it from another pc to the cf (ssd) drive, then plugging it into the thinkpad, but no joy...
i have an old ibm thinkpad 380xd (200mhz 64mb ram) that i want to resurect as a net surfing and word processing device for my uni work, i was tempted to just go out and buy a netbook, but i like the retro styling ofthis old machine and it only uses two amps when running flat out, and with todays battery technology, it can be made to run for a long time on batteries available, plus i plan to can the old cd rom and fdd and put in another battery there (maybe)
any help here would be greatly appreciated!!!
mike
