Shann,
I am using the ISO- slitaz-current-core64.iso (updated on 11 July 2024)on https://people.slitaz.org/~shann. Thanks for the same. I appreciate the effort. I am finding it to be quite good.
I wanted to provide the following feedback:-
I have installed Slitaz-64 on the hard disk using the Slitaz installer. I used the option of install using slitaz-current-core64.iso as "source file".
a) I installed Firefox-official, Abiword, Gnumeric and Audacity. The programs work as expected.
b) I installed pulseaudio and pavucontrol. However, on using "Pulseaudio Volume Control" from Multimedia tab, pulseaudio volume control GUI does not load. I am getting the error "Connection to Pulseaudio failed". Screenshot attached. Due to pavucontrol/pulseaudio not working, there is no sound in Firefox. To get sound, in firefox, I had to use apulse, which works.
c) Another issue I am observing is that during booting, it stops for a long time (maybe 30 seconds) at "Loading console keymap"
d) Wifi works properly.
e) While trying to use Google Meet, webcam (builtin into the laptop) is not getting recognized. I tried installing linux64-video and linux64-media but still webcam is not recognized. The webcam is getting recognized on all other Linux distros. Appears to be missing some drivers..?
Surprisingly, issues (b) and (c) above are not observed when using Slitaz-64 (same ISO) from USB after writing it on USB using dd. They are only occurring when using Slitaz Current64 installed on hard drive. When using Slitaz-64 from USB, it boots normally without stopping and Pulseaudio volume control works.
I also wanted to check whether Debian or Slackware packages can be installed in Slitaz-Current 64. I tried using "tazpkg convert" but it appears to be only for 32-bit packages.
