Try this:
grub2-2.00.tazpkg
Seems working, just have to build a new rootfs (I use a frugal install without persistence); unable to run grub-install /dev/sdb if /boot/grub was not present at boot.
Thanks mojo.
Well, no need to build a new rootfs; I gave a wrong path in the --boot-directory option :-/
but now I cannot create my config file:
root@slitaz:/home/tux# grub-mkconfig -o /media/sdb1-usb-USB_2.0_Flash_Di/boot/grub/grub.cfg
/usr/sbin/grub-probe: error: failed to get canonical path of tmpfs.
an idea? Thanks in advance.
I installed grub2 and ran grub-mkconfig from cooking core live cd and got the same error as you.
Maybe a patch or update will fix it.
You may be able to modify /boot/grub/example-grub.cfg to work.
Hello mojo,
Following your advises, I've been able to
You are a King!
The only problem I have now is that I cannot configure a french keyboard: curiously I don't have this problem when I boot from GRUB4DOS.
GRUB2 is far to be so accessible than GRUB4DOS and the GRUB2 manual is not always really clear. Anyway, now I have bases I'm going to study it more in depth (not sure it is english but you'll probably understand what I mean).
Thanks once more for your help.
EDIT:
The only problem I have now is that I cannot configure a french keyboard
Forget it, I've once more done my traditional error:
kmap=fr-latin
instead kmap=fr-latin1
