Hi all
I've just installed Slitaz Rolling on a partition of my HD and I can't managed to have the sound working (with stable on other partition there is no problem, the sound is ok).
dmesg returns
snd_via82xx_modem 0000:00:11.6: setting latency timer to 64
snd_via82xx_modem 0000:00:11.6: PCI INT C disabled
snd_via82xx_modem: probe of 0000:00:11.6 failed with error -13
snd_via82xx 0000:00:11.5: PCI INT C -> GSI 22 (level, low) -> IRQ 22
snd_via82xx 0000:00:11.5: setting latency timer to 64
and lspci returns
00:11.5 Multimedia audio controller: VIA Technologies, Inc. VT8233/A/8235/8237 AC97 Audio Controller (rev 60)
When I typed (as root) soundconf the card was not detected and I've have not enough knowledge to fix that issue.
Has anyone the same problem ?
Have a nice day.

There are some sound problems in rolling - all the sound bugs seem to be related to kmod/busybox depmod and the symlink in /lib/modules.
can you check lsmod on both systems and maybe load the missing drivers in /etc/rcS.conf
and maybe run soundconf on both systems and tell the difference

Hi Kultex
Thanks a lot for your quick answer.
After I've installed Slitaz rolling again,
I discovered that the commands #soundconf
or #alsaconf were deprecated and had to be
changed by #alsactl init
That works fine and now the sound is ok for
Skype or Mplayer ....and even with wine.
So I keep Slitaz stable for every day and rolling
for learn a bit more about Linux ;)Posted 11 years ago #
