Hey guys, I have been making a customised live cd for around a week now. No issues with this part of it. The device I would like to use it on has very strange sound hardware (its a wyse thin client). In order to get sound to work, i need to boot normally and then run soundconf as root. It takes around 20 seconds to find the correct device, and when i press OK, sound works correctly.
I am trying to remove the need to run soundconf every boot - this is where im having issues.
I have noticed it's adding 'snd-via82xx' to rcS.conf, so i have tried manually adding it to the correct line and saving it back to the live cd. This however just boots to cli and typing 'startx' gives a heap of errors and the system locks up. Its worth noting that this is the same thing that happens if I select 'do not remove sound and video config' when making the live cd with tazlito. Also worth noting, I have tried 'dont remove snd + video' while making the live CD FROM the wyse thin client (I assumed this would work since the sound and video drivers were what was detected on boot).
I have googled for the last few days, but wasn't able to find a solution.
Can anybody point me in the right direction on this one please?
Cheers,
Tylar
