Is there any plan to support some of the more modern kernel features like emulated scsi drives (so all drives can be addressed as /dev/sdx,) and grfx_mode (so graphic modes will work grub2 style)?

Support for misc modern features in kernel?

Hi,
I thought emulated scsi drives was deprecated ?
http://cateee.net/lkddb/web-lkddb/BLK_DEV_IDESCSI.htmlAlso I can't find grfx_mode in 2.6.37 used in current cooking ?
Note that in general we open and can add module if needed.

Sorry, my mistakes. I just assumed that it was the emulated scsi drivers that were responsible for the drive lettering. I see now that I've read a bit that I was wrong. I think it is the pata/ide driver. I guess slitaz uses the ide driver? Just wondering if there is a plan to support sdx lettering of ide drives (out of the box, not customized.).
The drive lettering issue causes trouble when using osprober to automatically add entries to the grub.cfg, as well as when the 10_linux script in /etc/grub.d adds entries.
I also used the incorrect tag for grfx_mode, should have said gfxmode. Support for gfxmode allows grub2 to set the console mode without a deprecated error, as well as setting the console text mode correctly without manual editing of grub.cfg or requiring a custom entry in /etc/grub.d.
I would like to resolve issues relating to use with grub2. Slitaz seems to be one of a very few distros that does not have these features built in yet, and I am just wondering about the plan for the future. I'd like to refer users to slitaz for use with another project I am working on, but the users are rather unsophisticated and the system requires grub2.
