I hope I understand your question correct - which version of sylpheed are you using?
I have sylpheed-full installed and I have no problems to see pictures

I confirm that the messages received with Sylpheed are composed of text only, no images, no frames.. and hyper links do not function, even with the command "open link with web browser".
The version (see below) of Sylpheed is 3.1.1 except Sylph-dev which is 3.1.0 ?? though all these paskages have been loaded recently and all together via Taz panel;
Does this incoherency between versions could explain my problem?
Thanks for your helpPaquets installés

Ok, but before upgrading I would like to find out the origin of the problem, I'll continue to investigate,
Thanks anywayPosted 10 years ago # -
Adding /etc/mime.types solved some problems for me.
Installing this file enabled image file (jpeg, giff, png) rendering in body of message in slitaz-4.0 and made URL browser launcher work in cooking/5.0.
Copy/rename the attached mime.types.txt to /etc/mime.types
Configuration/Common Preferences/Details/Web browser
Enter an installed browser that will launch and go to clicked on URL
Example:
Web browser: tazweb '%s'
Click Apply/OK
Close/Open sylpheedNote:
Sylpheed does not render html email messages.
Use a browser based client such as Thunderbird, SeaMonkey or Opera browser/email if that is what you want.Posted 10 years ago # -
Thanks mojo for your answer:
- the URL launcher is now Ok after configuring with tazweb '%s'.
- for the secon step (Copy/rename the attached mime.types.txt to /etc/mime.types) could you give some very practical details to do that, because I'm still not very familiar working with the terminal.
Thanks in advancePosted 10 years ago # -
Download mime.types.txt with midori browser.
Open terminal

I have added /etc/mime.types as suggested but nothing has changed, images still not rendered in the body of my emails.
Anyway the most important is that the links are now active, thanks for that.Posted 10 years ago #
