Hi.
I just wanted to know if Slitaz is able to run on structures below i686.
Ubuntu a while ago dropped anything below that.
But I know Debian does this.
I'm just wondering if I can use Slitaz 4.0 on my old i586 :)

System below I686 ?

We just moved up to i486 from i386 for SliTaz 4, so it should still run on an i586 systems. Not so sure about which architecture SliTaz Cooking is using at the moment though.

By the way,
Ubuntu, Debian... SliTaz not based on any of them.
Not the first time it is mentioned that SliTaz is based on Debian. Who told you that? ;)Posted 12 years ago # -
Nobody, I was just guessing.
It's nice to know that we can use Slitaz on old Hardware :D
Thanks and sorry for the confusion!Posted 12 years ago # -

Just interesting to find the source of these mentions…Posted 12 years ago # -
hi jpxsat
yes it does, but at the moment you have to stay with 3.0, because 4.0 has a bug in glibc - 5.0 will work again.
