Tazinst Error

   Tried to install Slitaz on hard drive but could not open tazinst.
   The error message is:
   TazPanel - Installer
   Tazinst Error
   tazinst, the lightweight SliTaz HDD installer is missing. Any installation can not be done without tazinst.
   Check tazinst' permissions, or reinstall the slitaz-tools package:
   # tazpkg get-install slitaz-tools --forced
   Even after installing slitaz-tools i can not open tazinst.
   I use slitaz-4.0 burned to a cd

   Thanks in advance for any help

   Ok, it's fine for tazinst.
   What is your locale setting?
   and what is the output of:
   

   # grep

   My locale is pt_BR keyboard is br-abnt2

   The output for grep is:
   Usage: grep [OPTION]... PATTERN [FILE]...
   Try 'grep --help' for more information

   got the same error that my colleague and when I type in terminal:
   tazinst install / var / lib / tazinst.conf
   returns:

   Error 2 configuration file not found

   I can't duplicate any of these problems booting into Slitaz-4.0 livecd.
   Verify your SliTaz 4.0 burned cd:
   Check media
   59 files OK, 0 broken, 0 not checked.
   @weldir
   Open terminal,su,password: root
   tazinst new install.config
   leafpad install.config
   Make your install configurations.
   Save,quit
   tazinst install install.config

   @domcox
   If user enters tazinst new with no <file> name terminal outputs touch/Error 2 Can't write setup file.
   Maybe it would be better if tazinst new writes tazinst.conf in cwd?
   Otherwise it should echo message to user "Please provide <file> name for install configuration" instead of error messages.

   I have the same locale/keyboard as this person (pt_BR/br-abnt2) and I'm having the exact same problem with the latest stable DVD (the packages one).

   What can I do? The old ncurses installer worked in the past.

   Hi CamiloMM,

   You have two choices:

   1.) This bug has been fixed.
   Update your system with the latest tazpanel and slitaz-tools packages.

   2.) Use tazinst in cli mode:
   run: # tazinst new install.conf
   edit install.conf to suit your needs, this file is self-documented.
   run: # tazinst install install.conf
   this command will install SliTaz on your system.
