I use usb stick prepared by tazusb
Tried to load rootfs.gz from hdd drive instead of usb, but with no success
Is there a way to do it this way somehow?

Unusual installs: http://doc.slitaz.org/en:guides:uncommoninst
Subdirectory and loop file installs have the kernel and root file system on different devices.
They all use grub4dos bootloader and preinit.iso
Every example is a full install: installation extracts the root file tree from rootfs.gz
No extraction of the rootfs.gz by the kernel is required.
The bootloader maps the device with subroot or loop file containing the pre-extracted root file tree so the kernel can mount it.
A frugal install with kernel and rootfs.gz on different partitions/devices may not be possible.
I have not tested any of these methods yet.
