Wifi issue in hp compaq presario 6730s + hotkeys wont work

Hi friends
I am new to linux as well as Slitaz. My laptop due to motherboard failure had become quite slow and i had to switch to light wieght OS like Win Xp dual booted with Lubuntu(it was working good but it was still slow). Recently i read about Slitaz & I tried it(its faster as compared to XP or lubuntu) and later installed it on my lappys HD.Wifi led was not switching (ON/OFF) and neither of the keyboards hotkeys are working.I updated some packages using ethernet but it is of no use.
I have attached screenshot regarding wireless device in TazPanel.
It would be really great if you could help solve my issues and help me revive my laptop.

You are needing firmware called iwlwifi-5000-2.ucode for your wifi adapter.

Become the root operator, & in a terminal run this command

tazpkg get-install firmware-iwlwifi-5000

Then reboot.

Go back into tazpanel & configure your wifi.

Thanks for your suggestion,it helped a little bit....(i have attached the tazpanel screenshot at it shows something under iwconfig.)
now the dmesg is not saying missing firmware files but it said that RF-KILL has disabled the Wifi

I searched for rf-kill utility and later installed it but rf-kill shows that wifi is hard-blocked(which is right because my laptop has a wifi led button which is yellow when its Off and Blue when on, but its not switching to blue and continues to remain in yellow-OFF)

Check the bios for builtin device configuration,disable lan/wlan switching. Some laptops shutoff the wifi radio to save battery when the ethernet is enabled. If the hot keys and radio work with another distros kernel then the slitaz kernel is either not compiled with the required feature or the modules are in a separate tazpkg.
The linux-acpi tazpkg has kernel modules that support some laptops.
