Installing the xarchiver from the cooker I get the following messages with SliTaz 5.0:

I think, the missing packages are not gzip and unzip, they are zip an unzip, which are both from Info zip. Otherwise it is not possible to delete a file in a zip/archive.
In the old version 0.5.2 of the xarchiver with SliTaz 4.0 the default directory for extracting files is the current directory having set no preferences at all.
