hosts file not persisting

I download mvps's host file (to block adverts), but it reverts on reboot to plain 1 line entry (127.0.0.1)

My setup is:

slitax 3.0 on on a eee901, sda2 is ext2 with files,  sdb5 is ext3

grub legacy menu entry:

root (hd0,1)

kernel /slitaz/vmlinuz-2.6.30.6-slitaz home=/dev/sdb5 root=/dev/sda2/slitaz lang=en kmap=uk

initrd /slitaz/rootfs.gz

I don't get any prompt to save settings on exit, but desktop updates and browser settings are saved on sda2/slitaz

I apologize if this is a simple matter, but it isn't to me, I'm pretty new to linux.

Re: hosts file not persisting

Save settings/programs in rootfs:

#tazusb writefs gzip

or

Right click Desktop/SliTaz Live/TazUSB Writefs (gzip)

Re: hosts file not persisting

eventually I get a root filesystem size 36.5M.

maybe I need to put this in the slitaz directory?

(later) yes I do.

thanks that worked.

I think it's the same idea that puppy uses to save state, and xpud;

sadly it seems to have messed my wireless connection (I don't want to autoconnect to "any"!)
